A glimpse of Hangzhou

AICAS 2027 takes place in Hangzhou, a city where the UNESCO-listed West Lake and a fast-growing technology economy meet. A few places worth knowing before you arrive:

Leifeng Pagoda on the shore of West Lake

Leifeng Pagoda

Standing on Sunset Hill overlooking West Lake, Leifeng Pagoda is one of the most recognisable landmarks of the city. The surrounding hill is home to the Leifeng Pagoda Memorial Sunset and the nearby Jingci Temple.

West Lake and the hills beyond

West Lake

Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, West Lake sits at the heart of Hangzhou and is surrounded by hills, causeways, temples and pagodas. Walking or cycling along the causeway is a good first look at the city.

Qianjiang New Town

Across the river, Qianjiang New Town is Hangzhou’s modern business and conference district, where the city’s tallest towers and landmark venues are located. It reflects the city’s rapid growth as a technology hub.
